Sights

A couple of months ago my family and I took a road trip to Hilton Head South Carolina.  Unfortunately it was while hurricane Andrea was hitting land and it was causing a ton of rain in the area.  That didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation so we played with google on the Internet machine and found plenty of fun things to explore in Hilton Head and the surrounding islands.  I got to thinking, there are probably a lot of fun rainy day things to do in Cincinnati/Kentucky/Indiana that I just never take the time to explore.  I made myself a promise to make a list of those things and to check them off as I visited.  It took a month or so but I finally crossed the first one off the list!

This past Saturday I went to The Cincinnati Art Museum and I have no idea what has kept me away from that place for so long.  I loved it!  And it was free!  I also discovered how much I love impressionistic work as I walked through the summer exhibit called Eternal Summer the art of Edward Henry Potthast and ended up buying one of his prints.

Here are some pictures of a few of my favorites from the day:

This is absolutely going to become a monthly rhythm in my life.  I love art and it has me in the mood to create some of my own again.  I ran out and got a couple of canvases and some acrylic paint.  I now want to check out the Taft Museum!
