Tomorrow I get to go back to New Orleans. God has done some pretty amazing things in my life in the past four years and they started to really take shape in 2010 after my first trip. I'm so excited to get back down there. My first trip was my first experience with real Christ followers, real prayer, real faith and real action. Since then I've met Jesus and I've made the choice to follow Him. I've been working on becoming more bold in my faith and my prayer life. This trip I hope to step out of my comfort zone more than ever. With God's guidance I know this trip can be as life changing as the first. I'll be blogging about my experience, hopefully while I'm there but if not when I get back...

I'm a lover of so many things, almost to a fault. I'm starting a journey toward simplifying everything in my life. Cleaning out the unnecessary and focusing solely on the One who brought me here.

New Adventure
Tonight is my first meeting to put together a new community group for my church. I'm so excited about this opportunity. I spent my 20's not really understanding what relationships should look like. I looked for all the wrong things and cared about all the wrong things, and now I have an opportunity to share my experiences, what I did wrong, and what I've learned through it. We're calling it The Blueprint. We're basing it loosely off of an Andy Stanley series called New Rules for Love, Sex and Dating. The overall theme is "Are you the person, that the person you're looking for, is looking for." I know that's confusing but if you have an idea of who the man or woman of your dreams is, would they want to date you? How are you becoming the person God wants you to be? Have you unpacked your baggage? Are you patient, are you kind, are you not self seeking, etc? Do you think that if the "right" person shows up that all of your problems will magically disappear? How do you view sex? Men, do you honor all women? Women, do you respect yourself? It's so many things and it's so exciting! More to come...

World Cup
Well I guess I've jumped on the bandwagon. I've literally never watched a soccer game, in all my 32 years. However I left work today and headed over to church to watch it and it was actually really exciting. And I think I followed most of it. I do get frustrated that they get the ball all set up and ready to score and someone steals it and kicks it all the way to the other side of the field, but I guess that's kind of the point. Four more years.
We had the remote to the Fountain Square JumboTron.
My church family, watching the game together on the big screen.
