It's such a great reminder to humble ourselves. There was a point in my faith where I did think that if I was a good Christian that God would give me what I wanted in life. That's an outside in type of life style. God is not a vending machine. You don't do works to get something out of it. It's a great reminder that no matter how wonderful you think you are in the eyes of God, humble yourself. Recognize that we're all broken. We all need a savior and we should all be acting from a place of gratitude. Most people either try and control their lives through good works to God, but wind up mad and disappointed if their life doesn't go their way or they ignore God completely and do whatever they wish. The person who is trying to 'impress God' is in more danger because they have no idea that they're lost. This sermon is wonderful.
